A comprehensive background is completed on each applicant to provide factual information to the appointing authority in order to evaluate the applicant's suitability for employment with the department and the position for which the applicant has applied.

This applies to anyone seeking employment with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections and includes a criminal record checks, drug and alcohol abuse, citizenship, age, driver's license and driving record, education/licensing, previous employment record and military.    Applicants for specified positions will be subject to a pre-employment drug screening.
