Welcome!
The Leadership Development Unit of the Oklahoma Dept of Corrections is very happy to have you as our guest. We sincerely hope to share with you important and helpful information, while providing you with learning opportunities in an enthusiastic and supportive environment.
The Leadership Development Unit is responsible for the design and delivery and/or implementation of programs for employee leadership development from the pre-supervisory level through upper and executive level development.
During training, we encourage you to take stock of your learning needs and to use every opportunity to draw from the knowledge and skills of your experienced instructors to fulfill those needs. Together, we will enhance our level of knowledge and effectiveness in preparing you for your future endeavors with the Oklahoma Dept of Corrections.
The Leadership Development Unit staff believes that the success of your training experience will depend largely upon your level of participation and your willingness to learn. Studies have shown that the more engaged the learner is (in the learning process) the more he or she will benefit from the learning experience. We will assist you in anyway we can by guiding and supporting you throughout your training.
We encourage you to help us grow as well. You can assist us to continuously improve in our abilities to offer a quality leadership development program by providing us your thoughtful, honest, and constructive feedback. We value your comments and suggestions.
The year 2011 offers exciting leadership development opportunities for staff at a variety of levels within our organization.
Please take a moment to look at the schedule and identify courses that are appropriate for you. Schedule some time with your supervisor to discuss your development needs. Visit with your training officer for course-specific information and enrollment information. Plan far enough ahead so that your facility/unit has enough time to schedule around your absence. All training enrollments require approval from the proper supervision level. Hope to see you in class!
