Mack Alford was appointed warden of the Stringtown Correctional Center in September
1973. His career in corrections started in 1955 as an officer at the Boys Training
School in Stringtown. After several promotions, he moved to Helena to work at
the Helena Boys Training School and from there to the Oklahoma State Penitentiary
in McAlester. Mack Alford served as warden of the Stringtown Correctional Center
until his death in March 1986.
